Who we are

Chinese Confinement is an educational project affiliated with Golden Month, a confinement care brand. Any personal information you provide through this site, for example through the confinement plan quiz or a newsletter sign up, is collected and held by Golden Month, which is responsible for handling it in line with the Australian Privacy Act.

Information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us. If you take the confinement plan quiz, that includes your first name, your email address, whether you consent to marketing, and the answers you provide, such as your due or birth date, birth type, feeding plans, support and budget preferences, dietary needs and state. If you sign up to a newsletter, we collect your email address. Our hosting provider may also collect basic, non-identifying usage statistics to keep the site running and secure.

How we use your information

We use your quiz answers to build your personalised plan, shown to you on screen. If you tick the marketing consent box, we use your details to send helpful confinement guidance and offers from Chinese Confinement and Golden Month. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will stop.

Where your information is held

Your information is collected and held by Golden Month. We use trusted third-party services to store and send it: a database provider to store your responses, and an email platform to manage any guidance and offers you have opted in to. These providers process the data on our behalf, and we do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The quiz popup uses your browser's local storage only to remember that you have seen or completed it, so it does not keep reappearing. If our use of cookies changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent.

Your rights

Australian privacy law gives you rights over your personal information, including the right to ask what we hold, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted, as well as to unsubscribe from marketing at any time. To make a request, email hello@goldenmonth.com.au and we will action it.

We may update this policy as the site develops. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
