Privacy policy

Last updated 7 July 2026

This is a placeholder policy for phase 1. It will be expanded into a full policy before the site collects any personal information, including any newsletter sign ups.

Overview

Chinese Confinement, an independent personal project, made out of passion for the tradition, respects your privacy. In its current form the site is a static set of articles. It does not require you to create an account, and it does not knowingly collect personal information.

Information we collect

At present the site does not collect personal information through forms. The newsletter sign up shown on the site is not yet active and does not store what you enter. Basic, non-identifying usage statistics may be collected by our hosting provider to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies

The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent.

When the newsletter goes live

Once sign ups open, we will collect the email address you provide, use it only to send the newsletter you asked for, and let you unsubscribe at any time. Full detail will be added here before that happens.

Your rights

Australian privacy law gives you rights over your personal information, including the right to ask what we hold and to request its correction or deletion. Contact details for making such a request will be published with the full policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
